Weathering Business Storms: CSS Jobs Interface’s Crucial Support as a DBE Certified Staffing Agency

Last month hurricane Hillary was a reminder that we can face unpredictable events at any time. Businesses and individuals alike can be confronted with challenges that demand reliable and adaptable support systems. When normal operations and routines are disrupted, having a solid safety net is always very important.

A Tennessee staffing agency has been playing a  pivotal role in providing essential business support during rough periods. CSS Jobs Interface is a Certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) staffing business that navigates turbulence for business owners, to maintain resilience and swift recovery.

The Impact of CSS Jobs Interface

In the realm of workforce solutions, CSS stands out as a pillar of strength. CSS Jobs Interface’s function extends beyond mere recruitment. The staffing agency is a connector between businesses and a diverse pool of skilled and reliable workers. This role takes on added significance during storms, where quick and flexible access to temporary labor can make the difference between maintaining operations or facing setbacks.

CSS Jobs Interface’s Pillars of Support for Businesses

The Tennessee staffing agency’s hallmark is its capacity to swiftly adapt to changing circumstances. Their General Manager, Richard Woodson says that “storms bring uncertainty, but our agency’s services remain steadfast. The US Army veteran understands the importance of standing steadfast in the face of all adversities. It is why CSS Jobs Interface was awarded DBE Certification earlier this year.

He offers businesses access to a dynamic workforce that can be scaled up or down as needed. His staffing agency is already becoming an invaluable partner for Nashville’s business continuity.

CSS Jobs Interface also demonstrates commitment to diversity and community empowerment, which is represented by the staffing agency’s DBE status. The certification reflects a dedication to high-quality staffing solutions and enhances CSS Jobs Interface’s ability to provide crucial support during storms and other challenges.

Preparing for the Unexpected

Woodson is one of the few staffing experts who will work with clients on proactive preparation before and during a disaster. CSS Jobs Interface collaborates closely with businesses to agree contingency plans tailored to the unique demands of each client. These plans anticipate the challenges that storms can bring and ensure that CSS’ clients always have the personnel they need to keep operations running smoothly.

The team at CSS aim for “Swift Recovery Through Temporary Staffing”, because recovery in the aftermath of a storm is a critical phase for businesses vis-a-vie their competitors. This is where CSS Jobs Interface shines, by having contractors who are ready to step in to maintain normal operations. The ability to swiftly adapt to changing conditions helps the staffing agency’s clients to minimize downtime and maintain a competitive edge.

Tennessee is a state prone to severe weather events, and it has witnessed a significant increase in storm-related disruptions in recent years. According to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), storms accounted for a 30% rise in business interruptions over the last five years. This data underscores the urgency of navigating such challenges by using reliable support systems, such as those provided by CSS Jobs Interface.

Ensuring Workforce Safety and Well-being

Amidst the chaos of a storm, the safety and well-being of workers and independent contractors remain paramount. Mr. Woodson prioritizes communication and support for the independent contractors that can become a temporary workforce. Individuals are informed about safety measures and resources, and CSS Jobs Interface demonstrates a commitment to worker well-being.

The staffing agency contributes to a safer and more resilient workforce during challenging times by even standing ready to collaborate with businesses, local authorities and other stakeholders. Effective storm response requires this type of collaboration on multiple fronts. CSS Jobs Interface aligns workforce needs with evolving conditions in a coordination that ensures staffing remains in sync with the changing landscape to minimize disruptions.

In the face of storms and the destruction they bring, CSS Jobs Interface emerges as a strategic ally for their business clients. The staffing agency’s capacity to provide adaptable, reliable and skilled workers when needed most, is an asset that cannot be underestimated. With the added advantage of DBE certification, partnering with CSS Jobs Interface empowers businesses to navigate challenges with confidence, recover swiftly, and maintain operational excellence.

The Fourth of July is a moment to commemorate America’s birth but CSS Jobs Interface also paused to express heartfelt appreciation for the hard work and commitment of its team.

The company’s General Manager, Terry Woodson extended warm wishes and deep gratitude to every worker in the company’s work pool.

According to Woodson, “Our workers’ unwavering dedication and contributions are instrumental to driving CSS Jobs Interface’s success so we are honored that they are a part of our team.

The spirit of collaboration and teamwork is at the core of CSS Jobs Interface’s achievements, and Woodson wants to foster it within the organization.

Each member of our team brings unique skills, perspectives, and experiences, which, when combined, form an unstoppable force,

Richard ‘Terry’ Woodson, CSS Jobs Interface’s General Manager

The team at CSS Jobs Interface has overcome many challenges on its journey to create Tennessee’s best staffing agency.

Last week the company even achieved DBE Certification as a “service disabled – veteran owned small business”, a milestone that is expected to propel CSS Jobs Interface forward. Woodson wants to create a team environment that fosters individual growth, creativity, and success.

The company’s General Manager promised that workers’ hard work, resilience, and tireless efforts will not go unnoticed. “We should celebrate the individual and collective efforts that have contributed to building the prosperity necessary for us to be free”, he said. A dedicated workforce has helped the Tennessee based staffing agency to thrive in Nashville’s dynamic and ever-evolving business landscape.

Business owners who use the agency’s recruiting and staffing services have seen positive impacts on their organizations, thanks to workers’ commitment. CSS Jobs Interface’s commitment to excellence has set the bar high for workers and for competing staffing agencies across Tennessee. Woodson told workers, “together, we have made a lasting difference, and for that, I am immensely grateful”.

Independence Day represents the core values of freedom, unity, and the pursuit of happiness. But the Veteran turned General Manager wants his workers to also celebrate the sacrifices of the trailblazers who fought for the principles that allow individual success today.

Recognizing the heroes who have championed indiscriminate freedoms, Woodson said, “may today’s holiday inspire us to cherish the freedom we enjoy and the opportunities it affords us”.

CSS Jobs Interface extended its deepest gratitude to an exceptional team and the clients they serve. Workers and clients were told, “We are immensely proud to have you as part of our team, and we look forward to the continued growth and success we will achieve together. Happy Independence Day!”

Hiring a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certified contractor like CSS Jobs Interface can give your business significant financial benefits. The DBE programme promotes diversity and inclusion while offering significant earnings and savings!

The program is administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and CSS Jobs Interface was helpfully supported by the department to obtain its DBE Certification last month. The Staffing Agency qualified for the DBE as a company owned by veterans and led by a diverse team.

CSS Jobs Interface has promised to continue providing competitive pricing, like most DBE certified contractors do, and even FREE Recruiting! Free because background and qualification checks are already among Jobs Interface’s primary services.

A Department of Transportation study found that DBE firms offer bids that were on average 10% lower than non-DBE firms! This is just one of the potential cost savings for employers that staff their projects through DBE Certified staffing agencies.

Hiring a DBE Certified Contractor Attracts Savings!

In some sectors there are other substantial cost saving results that will come from choosing CSS Jobs Interface.

The National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) found that, “projects with DBE participation experienced an average cost savings of 9.8% compared to projects without DBE participation”.

The NCHRP attributed the savings to the reliable efficiency and streamlined operations that DBE certified contractors bring to the table. CSS Jobs Interface already boasts the highest standards of professionalism and integrity across Nashville, fitting the mold of the average DBE contractor.

Other cost saving benefits can be accessed through Government incentives. Public agencies often provide incentives to promote DBE participation.

Look out for Incentives!

Some of the incentives are also written into contracting requirements set by government agencies and organizations receiving federal funding. In fact. “Federal regulations require a DBE participation goal of at least 10% on transportation projects”, according to the Department of Transportation.

CSS Jobs Interface already understands the incentives that some of its clients hope to gain from using its staffing agency. Through its partners, the agency now helps clients to meet requirements, ensure compliance, avoid penalties, and maintain business plans.

Open Up New Networking Opportunities

Tennessee’s restaurants, hotels, factories and construction businesses can now benefit from CSS Jobs Interface’s DBE networks. Relationships that reward businesses using DBE certified contractors are not uncommon. These relationships can open doors to subcontracting opportunities within other projects.

The U.S. Small Business Administration reported that subcontracting opportunities accounted for approximately 23% of DBE firms’ revenue. This statistic highlights the potential for financial growth through relationships that can be formed across the DBE network.

CSS Promises Clients Enhanced ROI

CSS Job’s Interface’s General Manager Terry Woodson, is confident that more of the company’s clients will see enhanced returns on investment (ROI).

The combined benefits of competitive pricing, cost savings, and access to incentives all amount to improved ROI”, Mr. Woodson said.

Terry Woodson, CSS Jobs Interface’s General Manager

Mr. Woodson argues that Jobs Interface is not satisfied with making money for itself, and endeavors to bring income to hundreds of clients and workers. “We applied for DBE Certification so that we could offer even more benefits to all of our stakeholders”, he said.

The company aligns with a vision of economic empowerment and wants to contribute to a more lucrative business landscape across Tennessee.

This summer Jobs Interface plans to use its status as a new DBE certified contractor to offer compelling financial benefits to qualifying clients. At the same time clients are already promised competitive pricing, cost savings, accessing government incentives and subcontracting opportunities through DBE networks.

The company’s management is convinced that clients’ financial outcomes will be improved because CSS Jobs Interface goes beyond financial gains itself. It is proud to be able to  provide new opportunities for both its clients and workers through the DBE Program.

We celebrate Mother’s Day to honor and show appreciation for mothers and the figures we hold as mothers. On Sunday many of us will recognize the sacrifices and contributions that our own mothers have made to create a successful adult. Well it is that sacrifice that binds together individual families, and society as a whole.

For many of our workers, Mother’s Day holds a lot of special emotional significance, because they are caring for children who are miles away. Some have experienced a motherly relationship with someone who does not wear the title through birth. The common thread running through those who value Mother’s Day is the desire to express gratitude towards the mothers we know.

CSS will acknowledge Mother’s Day by offering a special Mothers Day dinner to a mother on our team. We know that every worker may not celebrate Mother’s Day, because some people have complicated relationships with the concept of motherhood. In this age of political correctness it is important to approach the holiday with sensitivity and respect for different perspectives.

Mothers contribute significantly to the workforce and work outside the home in so many diverse fields. They usually take real life home management experience with them. According to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2020, 70.8% of mothers with children under the age of 18 were in the labor force, with nearly 47% working full-time. This contribution to the economy is crucial, since they build the labourforce and also help sustain it.

In my experience mothers bring a unique set of skills and experiences to our clients’ workforce. The mothers on CSS’ team often have strong multitasking abilities and effective time management skills. Maybe the roles that most play inside their families enable them to build up an ability to handle high levels of stress.

These are all reasons why CSS recognizes the value that mothers bring to our clients’ work teams. We also recognize how important agencies like ours have become to mothers who seek family-friendly agreements like flexible schedules and locations. Those with younger children value locations that offer on-site childcare and other support to contractors who are parents.

On Sunday we cannot afford to avoid reflecting on mothers everywhere. Whether a mother is part of the labor force or not, she contributes greatly to the society, country and economy. CSS will identify one amazing matriarch who cannot be overlooked. The mother who we will find provides critical care and support to her family and also has a positive impact on the productivity and well-being of other workers.

Terry Woodson

No one can miss the rising awareness of diversity of gender identities across society and the media, and now there are new calls for equality coming from emerging gender forms.

Public cafes and businesses have been even exposed to new risks of discriminating against the new ‘they/ them’ gender, since these persons refuse to be identified as him or her.

To avoid negative press and costly lawsuits, it is becoming important for workplaces to rethink inclusion, recognizing the different and new ways that people are choosing to identify their gender.

Flash actor Ezra Miller’s fight with a woman outside a bar in Iceland only emerged because the victim joked, “I could take you in a fight’, affecting Miller’s sensitivities since he identifies as “they/ them”.

The video went viral, and campaigners shared concern about both Miller and the victim’s hurt. “My friend didn’t have to say that,” a friend of the victim said.

‘It was just a joke, obviously — but Miller took that literally and got super mad and came running outside”. In fact ‘they’ was (and yes the grammar is correct) arrested twice in Hawaii for similar aggression.

I think it’s just fun and games — but then it wasn’t.’ Some members of minority groups often can be affected by jests or comments that highlight their ‘difference’. Workers must be aware of offensive actions and comments, and must learn to at least tolerate this ‘new’ gender form and its pronouns, “they/ them”.

It is true that the workplace should be welcoming to everyone, and agencies like CSS Jobs Interface take time to educate new contractors about different gender identities that people are choosing to express their gender. When colleagues understand and respect each others’ diversity the result is greater productivity and creativity.

I never imagined having to ask anyone “what is your preferred gender?”, but that is exactly the best approach to avoid disrespect. CSS Jobs Interface advises their contractors to always ask colleagues for their ‘Preferred Gender Identifier’ when in doubt.

If you’re not sure what someone’s gender identity is, it’s okay to ask them politely what they prefer to be called. Once it is known, workers should respect their choice. They should also respect the colleague’s trust by never sharing information about someone’s gender identity without their consent.

Unfortunately employers may be powerless to prevent all discrimination and harassment that can occur in the workplace based on gender identity.

It is not a bad idea to have some policies in place to address this behavior, and support those who may be affected by it. Recognizing and preventing discrimination and harassment around gender identity, could save workers and employers court time and negative press.

We know that gas prices can be a major expense for workers who have to commute to work. For most of us, when gas prices rise it has a significant impact on our budgets.

For commuting workers’ it often reduces disposable income and makes it harder to make ends meet.

Our team at CSS Jobs Interface brainstormed some steps that workers can take to cushion the impact of rising gas prices.

Here are five tips to help you cope with gas price increase:

  • Find Cheaper Alternative Transportation Options

One of the most effective ways to cushion rising gas prices is to find alternative transportation options. Consider: carpooling with coworkers, taking public transportation, or biking to work. CSS Jobs Interface will try to offer our contractors shared options which can help our signed workers to reduce their transportation costs.

  • Plan Your Routes

Planning your routes helps you to reduce the amount of gas you use. Avoid routes with heavy traffic or stop-and-go driving as best as you can. Congested and winding routes can significantly increase your fuel consumption. CSS Jobs Interface encourages contractors to use navigation apps to find the quickest and most efficient routes to work and other destinations.

  • Drive More Efficiently

Driving more efficiently can also help you save on gas. Avoid aggressive driving, such as rapid acceleration or hard braking. These significantly increase your fuel consumption. Also keep your vehicle well-maintained, with regular oil changes and tire rotations, since good maintenance improves gas mileage.

  • Reduce Your Overall Driving

Reducing your overall driving can greatly help. Consider consolidating your errands to reduce the number of trips you need to make. Also consider walking or biking for shorter trips, such as nearby appointments or light shopping.

  • Consider a Fuel-Efficient Vehicle

If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, consider choosing a fuel-efficient model. This can help you save on gas in the long run and offset the impact of rising gas prices.

These five steps will help you to cushion the impact of gas price increase on your pocket. By finding alternative transportation options, planning your routes, driving more efficiently, reducing your overall driving, and considering a fuel-efficient vehicle, some of CSS Jobs Interface workers have already reduced their transportation costs and cope with rising gas prices easier.

The modern workforce has been evolving and people have more options than ever when it comes to choosing their employment arrangement.

Remote jobs and contract employment are two popular alternatives to traditional full-time jobs, each with their own set of advantages and disadvantages.

It is worth comparing and contrasting the two options to help some of our readers to determine the right fit for you.

Remote Jobs:

Remote Jobs allow employees to work from anywhere in the world, so long as they have a stable internet connection. It is becoming increasingly popular due to the convenience and flexibility that it offers. So think about its pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Flexibility: Remote jobs offer workers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it easier to maintain a work-life balance.
  • Increased Productivity: Disciplined remote workers tend to be more productive because they can work in an environment that is comfortable and familiar.
  • Cost Savings: Remote jobs save workers money on commuting, wardrobe, and meals.

The Cons:

  • Limited Social Interaction: Remote workers may feel isolated and miss the social interaction that comes with working in a traditional office environment.
  • Lack of Structure: Remote workers need to be self-motivated and disciplined to create and stick to a daily routine.
  • Distractions: Working from home can lead to distractions from family members, household chores, pets etc.

What the Statistics say:

  • According to a 2021 report by FlexJobs, remote work increased by 115% between 2005 and 2019.
  • A 2020 survey by Buffer found that 98% of remote workers would like to continue working remotely, at least some of the time, for the rest of their careers.
  • A 2021 report by Owl Labs found that companies that fully embrace remote work have 25% lower employee turnover than those that don’t.

Contract Work::

It is time to consider contract employment. This refers to jobs that have a specific start and end date. Contract workers are typically ‘independent contractors’ hired for a specific project or task. These workers are paid a predetermined fixed or hourly amount for their work.

The Pros:

  • High Earning Potential: Contract workers typically earn higher wages than permanent employees.
  • Flexibility: Contract workers can work on multiple projects or for multiple clients, which allows them to have a more flexible schedule.
  • Variety: Since contract workers get the opportunity to work on different projects, it helps to keep their work interesting.

The Cons:

  • Job Insecurity: Contract workers who are not signed to an effective staffing agency like CSS Jobs Interface may have to continually search for new projects or clients, possibly leading to job insecurity.
  • Limited Benefits: Contract workers are not typically eligible for benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, or paid time off. Although some staffing agencies award workers handsomely for loyalty.
  • Limited Stability: Contract workers may not have the same level of job stability as permanent employees, as they are often hired for short-term projects. A relationship with agencies like CSS Jobs Interface gives contractors access to their available projects.

Statistics:

  • According to a 2020 report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were approximately 10.6 million independent contractors in the U.S. in 2017.
  • A 2020 survey by Upwork found that 59 million Americans freelanced in 2020, representing 36% of the total workforce.
  • A 2021 report by the Freelancers Union found that 42% of freelancers have increased their rates since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Comparison:

  1. Flexibility: Both remote jobs and contract employment offer flexibility in terms of where and when work is completed. However, remote jobs may offer more flexibility in terms of daily work schedules, while contract employment may offer more flexibility in terms of project selection and variety.
  2. Earning Potential: Contract employment typically offers higher earning potential than remote jobs, but may come with more job insecurity.

A factory owner’s workforce is one of their most important assets, but managing its needs can be a complex and time-consuming task requiring a substantial and continual investment of time and resources. As record job vacancies continue to drive up hiring costs, outsourced staffing is rapidly becoming a wiser and more cost-effective choice for manufacturing companies.

Outsourced Staffing is a proven tool that enables manufacturing companies to optimize operations, reduce expenses, and drive growth without sacrificing productivity and product quality.

ONE:
Cost Savings: In one example Jobs Interface “CSS” identified a manufacturing company that was paying $20 an hour for each of their 50 full-time employees. In addition, they were also burdened with recruitment and hiring related expenses, Workman’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, and Paid Time Off (PTO).

After commissioning Jobs Interface “CSS” to manage their workforce, they benefited from a 15% weekly reduction in labor costs, and due to the flexibility provided by Jobs Interface, they were able to scale their workforce up or down depending on seasonal or sales production goals.

TWO:
Access to a wider pool of talent: Finding and retaining skilled factory workers can be an exhausting and arduous task. For example; a company seeking to hire a welder with experience in a specific type of welding, or fork-lift, or machine operator, would be a challenge If the factory relies solely on its own recruitment efforts.

Jobs Interface retains an extensive database of skilled and experienced workers that are able to start assignments on relatively short notice. The ability to tap into this fine tuned database has been instrumental in allowing numerous Jobs Interface “CSS” clients to reduce costs and expedite production, without sacrificing quality, thus giving them a substantial advantage over their competitors.

If the benefits of: Reduction in Labor Costs, Risk Mitigation, Time Savings, and Access to a Skilled Labor Pool appeal to your organization, then you should consider partnering with a reputable agency such as Jobs Interface “CSS.”

The agency has experience working with businesses in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee. We have experts who specialize in the business of assisting your organization in operating at its maximum efficiency.

We recognize International Women’s Day on March 8th annually, to highlight the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. In Tennessee, this day provides an opportunity to celebrate the many contributions of women to our state, and to reflect on the progress we have made towards achieving gender equality in the workplace.

According to the US Census Bureau, there are approximately 3.3 million women living here, representing just over half of the state’s population. Despite this, our women continue to face many challenges in their work lives, that only ethical hirers like Construction Support Services (CSS) always aim to address for workers. The two primary concerns that usually arise are: pay inequality and underrepresentation in decision making.

One of CSS’ contractors recently reported that for her the most significant challenge of the two is pay inequality. According to the National Women’s Law Center, women in Tennessee earn just 81 cents for every dollar earned by men, with an even greater pay gap for women of color. This would mean that women in Tennessee must work longer hours and take on more debt to achieve the same standard of living as men.

Despite the challenges, our women have made significant progress in recent years towards achieving gender equality. In 2018, our state even elected its first female senator, Marsha Blackburn.

And Tennessee has produced global trailblazing female icons in the music industry, like Dolly Parton and Tina Turner. Dolly was born in the mountains of East Tennessee and overcame poverty by composing over 3,000 songs! While Tina was born in the tiny town of Nutbush and spent her early years there, developing the top mettle that has kept her in the music game for over four decades!

Historic firsts are a testament to the hard work and dedication of trailblazing women, who are fighting for greater representation and opportunities in all aspects of work and public life.

CSS sent a message to its contractors and clients on International Women’s Day, reaffirming its commitment to supporting and empowering women in Tennessee and around the world. The company encouraged other employers statewide to make similar commitments.

CSS’ General Manager, Terry Woodson launched the Jobs Interface platform this year, providing equal recruitment access to both men and women.

Whether it’s advocating for pay parity or supporting women in leadership positions, we all have a role to play in creating a more just and equitable world”, Woodson said.

CSS and some of the corporate entities across Tennessee took a moment to celebrate the achievements of women in the state. Indeed even on the eve of International Woman’s Day yesterday, Elst Brewing Company in Knoxville honored the occasion by hosting an event led by their head brewer, Ally Duffy.

Ally is the head brewer at Elst and is the only one in Knoxville and Knox County, she’s also one of just three in East Tennessee. The trailblazer hosted an event to Celebrate International Women’s Day, and the role women play in brewing.

It was just an effort to get women and non-binary folks interested in craft beer production,” she said.

Other business owners also recommitted to working towards a future where all women can thrive and reach their full potential. The message of “equality” continues to be a mantra for International Women’s Day in Tennessee, and indeed globally.
